SNAP® for Parents

SNAP® boys and girls programs are comprised of a parent group as well as a children's group. In addition to teaching parents/caregivers how to exercise their own self-control, parents also learn behaviour management, effective parenting and problem-solving skills.

Parent evaluations at the end of the 12 week sessions tell us they are better able to manage their child's behaviour, they relate and communicate better with their child and that they use their own self control to remain calm and manage difficult situations in a healthy and safe manner.

When parents consistently implement SNAP® parenting skills, the observable benefits in terms of their child's compliance and improved relationship often provide parents/caregivers with the motivation to continue to use these skills long after the completion of group.
